Cigar Humidors
Sealed, lined boxes that hold cigars at the humidity they need — necessary rather than optional in this climate.
Why this matters more in the UAE
Cigars need 65 to 70% relative humidity. An air-conditioned room in Dubai typically sits near 30%. A cigar left out in that will dry within days: the wrapper cracks, the burn turns hot and uneven, and the flavour goes sharp. The damage cannot be undone by re-humidifying.
Choosing a size
Buy larger than your current collection. Humidors hold humidity better when reasonably full, and collections grow. Our Walnut holds 25, the Desktop 50.
Seasoning, which most people skip
A new humidor's Spanish cedar lining is dry and will pull moisture out of your cigars for weeks. Before using it, wipe the interior with distilled water, place a charged humidifier inside, close it and leave it several days until the internal humidity holds steady.
Ongoing care
Check the hygrometer weekly. Use distilled water or humidity packs, never tap water — minerals foul the foam and encourage mould. Keep the humidor out of direct sun and away from air-conditioning vents.
Travel
For a few cigars over a few days, a leather case or travel tube is enough. A humidor is for storage, not transport.
Frequently asked questions
Do I really need a humidor in the UAE?
For anything beyond a few days, yes. Air-conditioned indoor air sits around 30% humidity, half what cigars need.
What humidity should I aim for?
65 to 70%, with a stable temperature of 18 to 21°C.
How do I season a new humidor?
Wipe the cedar lining with distilled water, add a charged humidifier, close it and leave it several days before adding cigars.
Can I use tap water?
No. Minerals in tap water foul the humidifier and can encourage mould. Use distilled water or humidity packs.
What size should I buy?
Larger than your current collection. Humidors hold humidity better when reasonably full.
