Cuban-Style Premium Cigars
Habano-wrapped, full-bodied cigars in classic corona formats.
What the Habano wrapper brings
Habano-seed wrappers give the pepper and spice most people associate with Cuban tobacco. It is a bolder leaf than Connecticut and less sweet than Maduro, and it dominates the first third of a cigar before the filler catches up.
The formats here
Corona and double corona: classic lengths with moderate ring gauges. A corona runs 45 minutes to an hour; a double corona is a long evening cigar of 90 minutes or more. Both concentrate flavour more than a thick gordo, because less air passes through a narrower barrel.
Strength
Medium-full to full. These are not cigars to start on. If you are new, a Connecticut-wrapped Churchill is a gentler introduction, and our samplers let you compare wrappers before committing.
Storage in the UAE
Air conditioning is the enemy of cigars: it holds humidity around 30%, and cigars need 65 to 70%. Anything you intend to keep beyond a few days belongs in a humidor. A dried cigar burns hot and tastes sharp, and it cannot be recovered properly.
Before you light one
Cut just above the cap line, toast the foot with a torch until it glows evenly, and draw gently. Rushing the light is what causes an uneven burn that never quite corrects.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Habano wrapper taste like?
Peppery and spicy, bolder than Connecticut and drier than Maduro. It dominates the early part of the cigar.
How long does a corona take to smoke?
Around 45 to 60 minutes. A double corona runs to 90 minutes or more.
Are these suitable for a beginner?
They are medium-full to full, so most beginners find a Connecticut-wrapped cigar easier to start with.
Do I need a humidor?
For anything beyond a few days, yes. UAE air conditioning sits far below the 65 to 70% humidity cigars need.
Corona or double corona?
A corona for an hour, a double corona for a long evening. The flavour develops further in the longer format.
