Description
The everyday sub-ohm coil
0.4Ω is where most direct-to-lung vaping happens. It produces a noticeably warmer, denser vapour than 0.6Ω without demanding the extreme wattage and battery current that 0.15Ω coils need, which makes it the practical choice for daily sub-ohm use.
Power and liquid
Run it within the printed wattage range on a regulated mod, starting low and increasing until the flavour is right. Pair it with high-VG liquid at low nicotine — the 100ml Cloudline bottles are built for this.
Expect more consumption
Both liquid and coils. A sub-ohm setup gets through several times the e-liquid of an MTL kit, and coils work harder. One to two weeks per coil is realistic; heavy use shortens it.
Priming matters more here
A lower-resistance coil heats faster, so a dry wick burns almost immediately. Wet every port, wait five minutes after filling, and take a few gentle draws before going to full power.
Battery awareness
Sub-ohm coils draw serious current. Use cells with an appropriate continuous discharge rating, inspect wraps, and carry spares in a case.
Either side of it
0.6Ω for a tighter draw and less consumption; 0.15Ω for maximum vapour at the cost of coil life.
Frequently asked questions
What device do I need for 0.4Ω?
A regulated box mod with a sub-ohm tank. These are not for pod kits.
What liquid should I pair with it?
High-VG at low nicotine. Nic salt at this resistance delivers too much nicotine and tastes harsh.
How long does a coil last?
One to two weeks with regular use, less with heavy vaping or sweet liquids.
Why did my coil burn on the first fill?
Insufficient priming. At 0.4Ω a dry wick scorches within a puff or two.
How many are in the pack?
Five.
