Description
Eighty watts is more than most people use
Vapers argue about power, but the practical range for sub-ohm mesh coils sits between 40W and 70W. At 80W this mod covers that comfortably with headroom to spare, in a body far smaller than a dual-battery device.
What you get from a mod
Control. You set the wattage, which sets coil temperature, which changes vapour volume, warmth and flavour. Run the same coil at 45W and 65W and it is effectively two different experiences — that adjustability is the whole point.
The setup around it
A sub-ohm tank such as the Aero Sub-Ohm, mesh coils at 0.4Ω, and a high-VG liquid at low nicotine. High-strength nic salt at sub-ohm power delivers far too much nicotine per puff and tastes harsh.
Battery safety
If it takes a removable cell, that cell must be in good condition with an amp rating suited to your wattage. Inspect the wrap before every insertion, carry spares in a case, and never leave a torn cell in service.
Who should not buy this
First-time vapers. A mod asks you to understand coil resistance, wattage ranges and battery safety before it behaves well. A pod kit is the better starting point.
Moving up
The 120W and 200W Forge models add headroom for very low-resistance builds and, in the 200W, dual batteries for longer runtime.
Frequently asked questions
Is 80W enough?
For almost all sub-ohm mesh coils, yes. Most vaping happens between 40W and 70W.
Does it come with a battery?
Check the kit contents in the specifications. Removable cells are usually bought separately.
Can I use nic salt?
Not at sub-ohm power. Use high-VG liquid at low nicotine.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Generally not. Start with a pod kit and move up once you know you prefer direct-to-lung vaping.
What tank should I pair with it?
The Halo Aero Sub-Ohm Tank, running 0.4Ω mesh coils.
