Description
Where the extra power is actually used
Not in everyday vaping. Between 40W and 70W covers most coils, and this mod spends most of its life there. The 120W ceiling matters when you fit a coil below about 0.2Ω, which demands more current to reach temperature quickly.
The trade-off for headroom
More power means more heat, more liquid consumed and shorter coil life. A 0.15Ω mesh coil at high wattage might last a week where a 0.6Ω coil at 20W lasts three. That is the cost of vapour volume, and it is worth knowing before you buy.
Pairing
A sub-ohm tank or the Aero RTA if you build your own coils. High-VG liquid at low nicotine — the 100ml Cloudline bottles exist for exactly this kind of setup.
Battery discipline
Check the continuous discharge rating of your cell against the wattage you run. Inspect wraps, carry spares in a case, and replace cells that run hot or lose capacity. At these power levels, battery condition stops being a formality.
Between the 80W and the 200W
The 80W is smaller and adequate for most people. The 200W adds a second battery for runtime and load sharing. The 120W sits in between: single-cell convenience with real headroom.
Not a first device
If this would be your first vape, it is the wrong purchase. Start with a pod kit.
Frequently asked questions
When do I need more than 80W?
Only with coils below about 0.2Ω. Most vaping sits between 40W and 70W regardless of the device.
Does higher power shorten coil life?
Yes, noticeably. More heat and more liquid through the coil means replacing it sooner.
What liquid should I use?
High-VG at low nicotine. Nic salt at this power is harsh and delivers far too much nicotine.
How does it compare with the 200W?
The 200W is dual-battery, so it runs longer and shares the load. The 120W is a single-cell device with plenty of headroom.
Is it beginner-friendly?
No. Start with a pod kit and move here once you understand coils and battery safety.
