Direct-to-lung, explained properly
You inhale straight into the lungs rather than holding the vapour in your mouth first. That needs open airflow, a low-resistance coil and real power behind it. The result is a large volume of warm vapour and a flavour that spreads rather than concentrates.
What it demands
A box mod with adjustable wattage — the Forge 80W upwards — and high-VG liquid at low nicotine. This is not optional: a sub-ohm coil delivers so much vapour per puff that a high-strength nic salt would be overwhelming and harsh.
Coil choice within the tank
0.4Ω mesh for everyday use; 0.15Ω if you want maximum vapour and accept shorter coil life. Always start at the low end of the printed wattage range and work up until the flavour is right.
Liquid consumption
Expect to get through liquid far faster than on an MTL setup. A 100ml bottle that lasts a month in a pod kit may last a week here, which is why high-VG liquid is sold in larger bottles.
Flooding and gurgling
Both are common in sub-ohm tanks. Fill with the airflow closed, do not overtighten, and if it gurgles, blow gently through the mouthpiece with the device off.
