Description
One cigar, properly protected
The simplest solution to the most common problem: taking a cigar somewhere without destroying it. A rigid tube survives being at the bottom of a bag, which a leather case does not always manage.
Why a tube rather than a case
A case is more elegant and carries three. A tube is tougher, cheaper, and seals more completely, which slows drying slightly. If you are carrying one cigar in a work bag, the tube is the better tool.
Still not a humidor
A sealed tube slows moisture loss but does not maintain humidity. Over a day or two the difference is negligible; over a week the cigar will dry.
Check the size
Cigar tubes are cut to a maximum length and ring gauge. A long churchill or a thick gordo may not fit — the specifications above give the limits.
A practical habit
If you carry a cigar regularly, put a small humidity pack in the tube. It costs little and keeps a cigar in condition for considerably longer than the tube alone.
For more than one
The leather case holds three.
Frequently asked questions
How many cigars does it hold?
One.
Will a large cigar fit?
Check the maximum length and ring gauge in the specifications. Long churchills and thick gordos may not.
Does it keep the cigar humidified?
It slows drying but does not maintain humidity. Adding a small humidity pack extends that considerably.
Tube or leather case?
A tube is tougher and better in a busy bag. A case is more elegant and carries three.
How long can a cigar stay inside?
A day or two comfortably. Longer needs a humidity pack or a humidor.
