Why charge outside the mod
Three reasons. External chargers usually charge more gently, which extends cell life. You can see each battery's voltage and progress. And crucially, you handle the cells, so you notice a torn wrap or a swollen casing before it becomes a problem.
Four bays
Useful if you run a dual-battery mod and want a charged pair waiting, or if you own more than one device. Each bay works independently, so you can charge two matched cells together while topping up a spare.
The display
Shows the state of each bay rather than a single indicator light. That makes it obvious if one cell is behaving differently from the others — often the first sign a battery is nearing the end of its life.
Safe charging
Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, never on a bed or sofa, and never overnight unattended. Remove cells once they finish rather than leaving them on the charger for days.
