Ember Hard Shell Storage Case

When a soft case is not enough

A fabric case keeps things together. It does not stop a suitcase being thrown, a laptop bag being set down hard, or a glass tank meeting a set of keys. A hard shell does, which is the difference between packing your kit and hoping.

What goes in it

A device or two, a lighter, spares, a small bottle. Check the internal dimensions above against your largest item — a hard case has a fixed volume and will not stretch the way a zip pouch does.

Packing it properly

The shell protects against impact; the padding protects items from each other. Keep a glass tank from resting against a metal lighter, and keep bottles upright. A rigid case packed carelessly still lets its contents rattle.

What it will not do

Insulate. A hard case in a parked car in a UAE summer reaches the same temperature as everything else in that car, and heat degrades e-liquid and stresses batteries. Take it with you.

Batteries

Spare lithium cells still need a dedicated battery case inside this one. A rigid shell does nothing to stop a cell shorting against a metal lighter.
