Why external charging is better
Three reasons that matter. It usually charges at a gentler rate, which extends cell life. It shows you what each battery is doing rather than a single indicator light. And it makes you handle the cells, which is when you notice a torn wrap before it becomes a short circuit.
Two bays, and who needs them
Dual-battery mod owners, mainly. Cells in a dual mod must be charged as a pair, and a two-bay charger does exactly that. It also lets single-mod users keep a fresh cell ready while vaping the other.
Independent bays
Each bay charges its own cell rather than splitting current. That means you can charge one battery alone without affecting performance, and you can see if one cell is behaving differently from the other — often the first sign it is ageing.
Charging safely
Hard, non-flammable surface. Not on a bed or sofa. Not unattended overnight. Remove cells when they finish rather than leaving them sitting on the charger for days.
