Depth. A Turkish bowl holds more molasses than a standard bowl and keeps it further from the heat source, which means a longer session and less risk of scorching the top layer. For a group working through an evening, that is worth more than any other bowl feature.
Silicone, not clay
Unbreakable, dishwasher-safe, and it does not hold old flavours. The compromise is slightly less even heat retention than clay, which you offset by managing coals a little more attentively or using a heat management device.
